Department of Mother and Child, Ministry of Health (PL)

The Department carries out tasks regarding health policy, and preparation and implementation of system solutions in the scope of healthcare over pregnant women, women in labour and after childbirth, as well as children, and youth up to 19. It handles issues regarding procreative health and treatment of infertility, as well as dentistry, sports medicine, vaccination, and the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including provisions relating to counteracting violence against children and promotion of breastfeeding. It performs tasks relating to the provisions of the Act on family planning, protection of the human foetus and conditions permitting pregnancy termination. Department of Mother and Child is a unit subordinated to the Minister of Health of Poland.
